Northern Cause Recipe
Learn to prepare one of the delicacies of Peruvian cuisine: the northern cause.
Ingredients to make Northern Cause:
1 unit of Salted Fish
1½ units of White potato
½ kilogram of Onion
½ kilogram of Yuca
½ kilogram of Sweet Potato
2 units of Tender corn
1 unit of boiled green banana
1 tablespoon of ground panca pepper
6 units of Green pepper
3 tablespoons of Oil
4 garlic cloves
1 glass of vinegar
1 pinch of Salt and Pepper
How to do Northern Cause:
It is better that you soak the fish from the day before so that it does not get too salty.
Separately boil the potatoes, mashing them later with a fork until they have the consistency of a puree. Add pepper, oil and salt. Be careful with the salt, because the fish is already salty.
Simultaneously you will have parboiled the sweet potatoes, yuccas, bananas, eggs and corn.
After you've soaked it, boil and fry the fish. Add an onion that you have made based on a dressing of onion, thickly cut and lengthwise, with garlic, panca pepper, vinegar and pepper.
To assemble the dish, carefully place a layer of mashed potato in the center of the dish or plate and top it with the fish fillet with onion.
Finally, decorate the northern cause at your discretion with yuccas, sweet potatoes, eggs, olives and parboiled plantains cut lengthwise or in pieces.
